Secretary/Principal Asst. Secretary for Defence ((1955); Assistant State Secretary, Pahang State Govt. (1952-1955); Malay Assistant Superintendent, Postal Dept. (1948); Malay Probationer (1939). Was awarded two prestigious scholarships: Queen's Scholarship to read law in United Kingdom, & Fullbright Exchange Scholarship to Yale University, U.S.A.
